Reading the screen, top to bottom

- The jackpot panel. Four prizes: GRAND $10,000.01, MAJOR $500.01, MINOR $50.00 and MINI $10.00. The cents on the Grand and Major suggest two progressives that have only just started to climb from their start-up; the round Minor and Mini look like fixed prizes. Aristocrat's own wording is that "Dragon Link's grand jackpot is a linked progressive, while standalone jackpots give players a chance to win smaller-sized progressives".
- The reels. Five reels, three rows. The gold coins with numbers are orbs — the symbol that starts Hold & Spin, shared by every Dragon Link title.
- The meters. "50 LINES", "1 credit per line", "BET 50" and a "1c" button: 50 credits at 1c each, so this spin costs 50 cents. "CREDIT 9850" is the balance in credits — $98.50 at 1c.
- The prompt. "3 [scatter] Start FREE GAMES" — three scatters trigger the free games.
The same screen on another machine can show different jackpots, lines and bets, because the venue chooses the settings. That's why we quote it as one machine, not as Autumn Moon's rules.
What the free games do
Autumn Moon shares Golden Century's free games. In Aristocrat's words, "all special symbols will reveal the same symbol, including the chance for jackpot symbols, which provides players an additional way to trigger the Hold n Spin feature". When the shared symbol is the orb, several can land together — the fastest way to the six the feature needs.
Aristocrat's catalogue sums up the series' design with Autumn Moon's entry: "Lightning Link inspiration that uses a common orb trigger symbol across all game themes for uniformity". Learn it on Autumn Moon and you can play any of the ten.
Hold & Spin, briefly
Six or more orbs start it; they lock; you get three respins; each new orb resets the count to three; fill all 15 spots and you win the Grand. Those counts come from player and review descriptions — Aristocrat doesn't publish them online — so check the help screen. The full walk-through is on how to play Dragon Link, and the free demo on the home page shows the rhythm in credits.
Autumn Moon in Australia
Autumn Moon is the third cabinet in Aristocrat's Australian MarsX image for Dragon Link. The ACT approved it as a Dragon Link game on 29 March 2018, and Victoria approved "Autumn Moon Dragon Link 2024" on 10 December 2024 and a 2026 version on 20 August 2026. In the United States it's one of the four themes on Aristocrat's $1 Million Dragon Link, which has a $5 minimum bet.
Venue sites seldom name the title, so check the top screen when you walk the floor. Venues that confirm Dragon Link are on Dragon Link in Australia.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Free games can deliver several orbs at once.
- A clear screen: jackpots, bet and balance all readable at a glance.
- Playable free in Mighty Fu Casino.
Cons
- No published return to player.
- At 50 lines, even a 1c machine costs 50c a spin — the cheapest button isn't always what the denomination suggests.
- Medium-high volatility.
My verdict
Autumn Moon is the best teacher in the series, because its screen spells out what you're paying: denomination, lines and bet. Look at the BET meter, not the 1c sign, before you press anything — and if the numbers suit you, see where Dragon Link runs.
